A day at Helder!

“A very good morning to you all!”, is what you happily say when you enter the office on Monday morning. “Did you enjoy your weekend?” is what you ask your colleagues. “Coffee?” 

You start the day with your cup of coffee. The inbox with the planning is filling up and the phone is ringing continuously. The web orders are flying in and in the meantime you quickly make a quotation for a potential client who has made a request via chat. Even though it is Monday morning, you don’t mind the rush. In fact, you love it. 

You take plenty of time for an existing client who calls to ask for advice about transport to Finland. You receive a lot of signals which make you happy. Your commercial heart will beat faster the moment you realize something can come out of this pleasant conversation. YES! A really pleasant potential! You feel overwhelmed by enthusiasm and share it with your colleagues. “I’m going right after this, are you taking care of the planning?” And you dive into the phone to make an appointment with the lead you just received. 

In the meantime, the office smells like China, because one of your colleagues started cooking with his daily portion of vegetables. That smell! Another colleague is making another sandwich behind his desk, because there is not a lot of time for a real lunch break. Everyone thinks their customers are too important for that. The level of service is high. The bar is set high. At Helder, everyone goes to extremes for all the clients. Because that is what we like. Whether it is about ocean freight or transport by road, everything is possible. And we also do it in the right way. 

While orders keep flowing in and the pressure mounts, you stay happy. In fact, the atmosphere at the office actually only gets better! If something goes wrong, you still communicate with your client as enthusiastic as before. As long as you clearly explain how the system works, our clients are nice enough to show understanding and find a solution together. 

By the end of the day, you walk through your planning one more time. You finish the last things, to make sure you start with a clean slate tomorrow. When it is time to shut down your computer, you feel satisfied. It was a busy day, but we laughed a lot! You say goodbye to your colleagues with a happy “See you tomorrow”. Tomorrow it is Friday already. The week has flown by so fast!
